SARS-CoV-2 Mutation Explorer

This application focuses on the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, the driver of host-cell surface receptor binding, and thus the infectivity of SARS-CoV-2. Mutations of the spike protein can have significant impacts on both infectivity and antigenicity, so this app will introduce you to the basis of SARS-CoV-2 spike mutations and what they might mean for global health.

This application was developed by Sarah Iannucci, an MSc student in Medical Visualisation & Human Anatomy at The University of Glasgow and The Glasgow School of Art. This application was developed with assistance from the COVID-19 Genomics UK Consortium (COG-UK) team and MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research team. Special thanks to Dr Ed Hutchinson, Dr Matthieu Poyade, Dr William Harvey, Prof David Robertson and Dr Joseph Hughes for their assistance on this project.
